According to PennDOT, a lane closure will be in place on westbound U.S. 30 between Airport Road and Route 340 (Kings Highway) from Monday, June 22, through Wednesday, July 1, during overnight work hours.
No detour has been announced, but drivers should expect delays as traffic merges through the active work zone. Plan extra time for travel and seek alternate routes when possible, particularly during evening and overnight hours.
The work is part of a $9.3 million project to improve safety and extend the lifespan of the western section of the Coatesville Downingtown Bypass. Planned improvements include milling existing pavement, completing base repairs, applying a new bituminous overlay, reinstalling edge-line rumble strips, and refreshing pavement markings.
The project affects a corridor that runs through the City of Coatesville and portions of Caln, Sadsbury, Valley, and West Caln townships.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be adjusted if conditions warrant.
Motorists traveling through the corridor should remain alert for changing traffic patterns, reduced lane capacity, and construction crews working near the roadway.
