CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that overnight lane closures will continue this week on U.S. 30 (Coatesville Downingtown Bypass) as part of a $9.3 million improvement project designed to enhance safety and extend the life of the highway through western Chester County.

From tonight, November 2, through Tuesday, November 4, lane closures will be in effect on sections of eastbound U.S. 30 between Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) and the Bailey Road overpass from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM each night. Drivers should anticipate delays and allow extra travel time when passing through the work zone. All activities are weather dependent.

The ongoing project includes milling, base repairs, resurfacing with bituminous overlay, and the installation of new rumble strips and pavement markings. These upgrades are expected to improve driving conditions, enhance safety, and reduce long-term maintenance needs along this heavily traveled commuter route.

Allan Myers, Inc., of Worcester, Pennsylvania, is serving as the general contractor on the state-funded project, which is expected to be completed by summer 2026.
