WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester Friends Meeting will host a public memorial and vigil Saturday, June 6, focused on victims of gun violence as advocacy and faith-based groups continue pushing for stronger community responses to firearm deaths across the Philadelphia region.

The event, titled “Memorial to the Lost,” is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. at the meetinghouse at 425 North High Street in West Chester and is being organized in partnership with Heeding God’s Call, an interfaith coalition focused on reducing gun violence.

According to organizers, the memorial will feature tee shirts displayed on hangers across the front lawn of the meetinghouse to represent victims lost to gun violence. A noon program is expected to include speakers and musical performances by The Resistance Singers Chesco.

Organizers said the Resistance Singers movement began in response to Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions in Minneapolis before expanding to other parts of the country.

West Chester Friends said the event aligns with the Quaker organization’s longstanding emphasis on peace advocacy and its broader efforts to address gun violence in Chester County and surrounding communities.

Community members are encouraged to gather on the front lawn beginning at 11:30 a.m. Signs will be permitted, and refreshments are scheduled following the program.
