NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police are searching for the gunmen responsible for an early Saturday shooting outside a Newark Waffle House that left four people injured.
According to Delaware State Police, troopers responded at approximately 12:10 a.m. July 18 to the Waffle House at 1450 Pulaski Highway following reports of a shooting.
When troopers arrived, police reported they found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot. The victims included a 20-year-old man from New Castle, a 19-year-old man from Bear and an 18-year-old woman from Wilmington. According to investigators, the three were transported to area hospitals with injuries ranging from serious to non-life-threatening.
Police reported that a fourth victim, a 17-year-old girl from New Castle, later arrived at a hospital by private vehicle with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the preliminary investigation, unknown suspect or suspects allegedly fired multiple shots from within a large crowd gathered in the parking lot before fleeing the scene.
The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing to investigate the shooting.
