GREATER PHILADELPHIA AREAThe Wardrobe, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals through professional attire and resources, has introduced a new initiative called Workforce Wednesdays. These free weekly sessions are designed to help job seekers and those transitioning to new careers gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed in today’s competitive job market.

Held every Wednesday at 5 p.m. on Zoom, Workforce Wednesdays features workshops like “Threads of Independence,” which teaches participants how to build a versatile, career-focused wardrobe, and “Acing an Interview,” which focuses on crafting a strong first impression and delivering an effective elevator pitch. Attendees will also earn a 50% discount for purchasing a new professional outfit at any of The Wardrobe’s locations across Philadelphia, Delaware, Bucks, Montgomery, and Chester Counties.

For those needing additional support, The Wardrobe offers one-on-one coaching sessions to refine job search strategies, improve resumes or LinkedIn profiles, and prepare for interviews with the guidance of experienced professionals.

Another highlight of the organization’s programming is the upcoming Summer Jobs + Internships Open Wardrobe, scheduled for May 29. This monthly event provides free clothing to attendees, along with access to workshops, resource tables, and exclusive apparel. Open Wardrobe will take place across four locations:

  • Upper Darby: 62 W. Marshall Rd.
  • Philadelphia: 413 N. 4th St.
  • Kennett Square: 345 Scarlett Rd.
  • Exton Square Mall, 2nd Floor (near Boscov’s)
