WEST CHESTER, PA — Older adults across Chester County will have a free opportunity to connect with health services, community resources and programs designed to support independent living when the second annual Chester County Senior Expo returns to West Chester University this fall.
Hosted by state Sen. Carolyn Comitta, the Oct. 13 event will bring dozens of service providers to the Sturzebecker Health Science Building for health screenings, informational exhibits, interactive presentations, activities, raffles and light refreshments.
“Last year, hundreds of older adults attended our Senior Expo to learn about the services, resources, and support available to help them stay happy, healthy, and independent,” Comitta said. “We expect even more to join us this year.”
The event comes as Chester County’s senior population continues to grow. About 100,000 older adults currently live in the county, and that number is projected to reach approximately 145,000 over the next two decades.
For residents and families navigating that shift, the expo offers a single place to learn about local and state programs, meet organizations serving older adults, and explore resources that can help seniors remain healthy and connected to their communities.
“The Senior Expo is an opportunity to come together, to have some fun, and to ensure that Pennsylvania seniors are empowered, appreciated, and included in our communities,” said Comitta, who serves on the Senate Aging and Youth Committee.
Registration is not required for attendees, although advance registration is strongly encouraged.
