OXFORD, PA — On October 10, 2024, Asher Hughes, 19, voluntarily turned himself in at the Oxford Police Department, marking a significant development in an ongoing investigation. Mr. Hughes was subsequently processed by law enforcement officials and transported to Chester County Prison, where he awaits arraignment.

The Oxford Police Department had previously issued an active criminal arrest warrant for Hughes, following a disturbance that occurred on October 5, 2024, during a political rally at the Oxford Square Shopping Center. The incident involved a gray Toyota Sienna, driven by an individual wearing a Michael Myers-style mask, who allegedly navigated the vehicle through the shopping center’s parking lot at high speed, posing a threat to rally participants.

Witnesses reported that the driver made hand gestures and appeared to brandish a firearm or knife through the van’s windshield. The vehicle, noted for lacking a rear bumper and obscured registration, was last observed exiting the area onto Connor Road.

The charges against Hughes include allegations of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, simple assault, possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and harassment. It is critical to remember that these charges are allegations, and Hughes is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
