Police Pursuit Ends in Crashes, Medical Office Collision

TRAINER, PA — A Chester man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges after police said a vehicle pursuit led to multiple crashes across Delaware County before ending at a medical office building.

According to the Trainer Borough Police Department, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for traffic violations at about 3:25 p.m. July 2 near the 1100 block of Township Line Road.

Police said the driver allegedly failed to stop, leading officers on a pursuit through Trainer Borough, Chester and Ridley Township.

During the pursuit, the driver allegedly struck multiple occupied vehicles before losing control and crashing into a medical office building in the 2100 block of Providence Avenue in Chester, according to police.

Authorities identified the driver as Nijaail Khalid Hargrow, 28, of Chester. Police said Hargrow allegedly fled on foot after the crash but was apprehended by officers following a brief foot pursuit.

No injuries were reported.

Hargrow was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, recklessly endangering another person, evading arrest or detention on foot, resisting arrest and related traffic offenses.

Court records show Hargrow was arraigned July 3 before Magisterial District Judge Mary Hopper, who set bail at 10% of $25,000. He was committed to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
