Missed Court Date Triggers DUI Warrant in Kennett Square

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — An arrest warrant has been issued for a Delaware man accused of driving under the influence after he failed to appear for a preliminary hearing, according to Kennett Square police.

Police reported that Roman Nochebuena-Urcid, 28, of Hockessin, Delaware, is wanted in connection with a DUI case stemming from a March traffic stop in the borough.

According to police, officers were dispatched at 7:59 p.m. on March 12 to a report of an erratic driver believed to be intoxicated. Officers located a red Toyota and conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of East Maple Street.

Police said that upon contact with the driver, identified as Nochebuena-Urcid, officers detected a strong odor of alcohol. Field sobriety tests were administered and indicated impairment, according to investigators.

Nochebuena-Urcid was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and submitted to a breath test, which police reported showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.153%.

Authorities said he was processed and later released pending a summons. Charges were subsequently filed through District Court 15-3-04.

Police stated that an arrest warrant was issued on April 22 after Nochebuena-Urcid failed to appear for his preliminary hearing. The warrant remains active under docket number MJ-15304-CR-0000062-2026.

He is charged with one count of DUI—incapable of safe driving and one count of DUI with a blood alcohol content of 0.10% to less than 0.16%, according to police.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
