KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A 39-year-old man faces weapons and reckless endangerment charges after police alleged a firearm discharged inside an apartment and sent a bullet through a wall into another building.
Kennett Square police were dispatched to the 600 block of East Cope Road at approximately 6:16 p.m. July 19 after a resident at Red Clay Manor reported finding a bullet inside an apartment.
According to police, officers met with the resident and a maintenance worker before entering the apartment. Investigators reported finding drywall dust on an entertainment center and the floor, along with a small hole in a wall near a window facing an apartment complex on Walnut Court Way.
Police determined that the bullet allegedly originated from an apartment in the 300 block of Walnut Court Way. Investigators allege that Kevin Lindsay, 39, possessed a firearm that discharged between two pillows on his bed, sending a bullet through the wall and into the neighboring apartment building.
Lindsay was taken into custody and transported to Central Booking at Chester County Prison, according to police.
He was charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied structure, recklessly endangering another person and possession or use of a firearm by a prohibited person. The charges were filed in District Court 15-3-04.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
