Drug Bust in Wilmington: Two Men Arrested and Illegal Substances Seized

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested two individuals in connection with alleged drug-related activity observed in the city.

On the morning of January 3, officers from the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the 300 block of West 8th Street when they reportedly witnessed two men engaging in drug activity. The suspects, identified as Richard Brown, 38, and Dashawn Latham, 27, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, were taken into custody without incident.

Authorities reported seizing 67.76 grams of marijuana, two MDMA pills, and $251 in cash during the investigation.

Brown faces two counts of alleged possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and is currently being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $20,000 unsecured bail.

Latham has been charged with alleged possession of a controlled substance. He was also arraigned and released on his own recognizance.

Authorities emphasize that all charges are accusations and that the suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
