WYOMISSING, PA — Police handled a wide range of calls throughout Wyomissing on Monday, including traffic violations, a reported break-in, a suspected fraud case, and emergency responses, according to department records.
According to police, officers conducted multiple traffic stops beginning early in the morning, including a 2:26 a.m. stop near Spring Street and Park Road North for following too closely and failing to maintain a lane, which resulted in a warning.
Police reported another stop around 6:00 a.m. on Penn Avenue near Park Road North, where a driver was cited for expired registration, lack of a valid driver’s license, and expired insurance.
Additional traffic enforcement throughout the day included stops on North Wyomissing Boulevard, Route 222, Lincoln Avenue, Old Mill Road, Berkshire Boulevard, and State Hill Road, with most resulting in warnings, while one driver was cited for speeding and another for multiple violations.
Authorities reported responding at 7:20 a.m. to a burglar alarm on Museum Road, where an employee stated the activation was accidental.
At approximately 10:00 a.m., police reported that a wallet recovered on Reading Boulevard was returned to its owner after being linked to a prior theft from a vehicle in Mohnton.
According to investigators, officers were dispatched around 11:23 a.m. to Woodland Road for a reported break-in that occurred over the weekend. Police stated information was collected and the incident remains under investigation.
Police reported responding to Route 422 near Ramp O around 12:22 p.m. for debris in the roadway, which officers removed.
At approximately 12:35 p.m., officers assisted with a disabled vehicle on North Wyomissing Boulevard near 4th Street, where the driver declined further assistance.
Authorities reported a non-reportable crash on Berkshire Boulevard around 1:37 p.m., where one vehicle backed into another. No injuries were reported.
Police also responded to an automatic fire alarm on Berkshire Boulevard at approximately 2:22 p.m., which was handled by the Wyomissing Fire Department.
According to police, a juvenile operator was warned during a 2:45 p.m. stop on Lincoln Avenue for operating an illegal electric motorcycle.
Officers investigated a possible fraud complaint reported at 4:37 p.m. on Old Mill Road, which remains under investigation, according to authorities.
Police reported responding to reckless driving complaints on Route 12 and later on Lake Avenue, but no vehicles were located in either case.
At approximately 6:21 p.m., officers responded to a report of a reckless driver near Lake Avenue and Monroe Avenue, but the vehicle was gone upon arrival.
Authorities also handled additional service calls in the evening, including a burglary alarm on Reed Avenue that was determined to be accidental and multiple traffic stops for stop sign and lighting violations.
Police reported that at approximately 9:12 p.m., emergency services transported a person from Park Road North to Reading Hospital for evaluation.
Later that night, officers conducted a welfare check on Hill Avenue near Park Road North, where a known individual was reported loitering in the area.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
