81-Year-Old Kennett Square Man Accused of Indecent Exposure After Years of Alleged Advances

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — An 81-year-old man has been charged following allegations of inappropriate behavior toward a neighbor in Kennett Square. Officers from the Kennett Square Police Department responded to reports of indecent exposure on Friday, March 14, 2025, in the 300 block of Walnut Court Way.

Police allege that Manuel Mejia-De Jesus exposed himself to a female neighbor as she was exiting her building and heading toward her vehicle. According to the woman, this incident followed years of alleged unwanted advances from Mejia-De Jesus. She explained to officers that she had repeatedly told him to stop pursuing her since moving into the area approximately eight years ago.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers conducted an investigation which led to the filing of a criminal complaint. Mejia-De Jesus now faces charges of indecent exposure, open lewdness, and disorderly conduct. Authorities have confirmed that the case has been filed in District Court 15-3-04 and is pending a preliminary hearing.

The Kennett Square Police Department declined to provide additional details about the case, citing the ongoing legal proceedings. They reiterated that all individuals charged with crimes are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
