Motorists traveling through the busy corridor near the station and the Schuylkill River should expect significant backups and delays during the work window.

The work is part of a $148.9 million project to rehabilitate several Market Street bridges spanning major transportation corridors, including Amtrak lines, Interstate 76 (Schuylkill Expressway), the Schuylkill River Trail, and CSX Railroad infrastructure.

PennDOT’s project includes replacing the Market Street bridges over Amtrak and I-76, redecking the Market Street Bridge over the Schuylkill River, and replacing the bridge over the Schuylkill River Trail and CSX Railroad east of the river.
