Two Delaware County Roads Face Daytime and Overnight Delays

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Drivers should expect lane closures and flagging on Bortondale Road/Orange Street and Chelsea Road from Monday, July 13, through Friday, July 17, as resurfacing and utility work moves through several Delaware County communities. Plan extra time because backups and delays are expected.

Bortondale Road/Orange Street will be restricted between Old Middletown Road and Baltimore Pike in Middletown TWP, Upper Providence TWP and Media BORO. Lane closures with flagging are scheduled from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning.

Chelsea Road will be restricted between Chichester Avenue and Concord Road in Bethel TWP and Upper Chichester TWP. Lane closures with flagging are planned from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and again from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning.

No detours have been announced. Drivers should follow flaggers through the work zones, reduce speed and seek alternate routes when practical.

The work includes roadway repairs, milling, paving and utility adjustments. New asphalt will be installed to seal the roadways and provide a smoother driving surface.
