TESCO Retains ISO Certifications as Utilities Face Rising Compliance Demands

TESCO Metering

BRISTOL, PA — TESCO Metering has maintained three internationally recognized ISO credentials covering quality management, laboratory competence and information security, reinforcing its qualifications as utilities expand digital infrastructure and navigate increasing cybersecurity and regulatory requirements.

The company said it has retained ISO 9001 certification, ISO/IEC 27001 certification and ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation across its operations.

The certifications validate TESCO’s quality management systems, information security practices and laboratory testing and calibration capabilities. As utilities continue deploying advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and connected technologies, vendors are facing greater scrutiny over cybersecurity controls, technical competence and regulatory compliance.

“Trust is earned through consistent performance, technical competence, and responsible stewardship of information,” President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Lawton said. “Maintaining ISO 9001 certification, ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation, and ISO/IEC 27001 certification demonstrates our long-term commitment to providing utilities with reliable solutions, accurate results, and secure business practices.”

TESCO said its ISO/IEC 27001-certified Information Security Management System provides a risk-based framework for protecting customer information and operational data through enterprise-wide security controls, cybersecurity risk assessments, data privacy measures and ongoing internal and external audits. The company’s current Statement of Applicability, dated Jan. 6, 2026, incorporates all ISO/IEC 27001 Annex controls.

The company’s ISO 17025 accreditation confirms that its testing and calibration laboratories operate using validated methods, qualified personnel and traceable measurements designed to produce technically valid results for utility metering applications.

TESCO also said its ISO 9001-certified quality management system is intended to ensure consistent product and service quality through standardized processes, risk management and continuous improvement.

According to the company, maintaining the certifications requires ongoing internal audits, management reviews, risk assessments and corrective actions designed to support operational performance, regulatory compliance and cybersecurity readiness across its utility solutions portfolio.
