LANCASTER, PA — Sight & Sound Theatres has opened ticket sales for its 2027 season, bringing back its “Jonah” production to Lancaster while introducing “Daniel” to its Branson, Missouri, theater for the first time, extending the company’s lineup of large-scale biblical productions as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.

The Lancaster-based theater company said “Jonah” will run from March 11 through December 31, 2027, marking the production’s return after a decade away from the stage.

The show recounts the biblical story of Jonah, whose attempt to flee God’s call leads to a journey involving a storm, a giant fish, and the city of Nineveh. Sight & Sound said the returning production will incorporate updated technology and a large-format LED screen.

Katie Miller, vice president of brand development, said audiences familiar with the original production will see significant changes when it returns.

“Audiences who experienced ‘JONAH’ years ago may remember some of the wonder-filled moments of this powerful story, and we are so excited to bring this underwater adventure to life once again,” Miller said. “This time, updated technology and a state-of-the-art LED screen will immerse audiences in a deeper way.”

Meanwhile, the company will debut “Daniel” at its Branson theater beginning March 19, 2027, with performances scheduled through December 31, 2027.

The production follows the Old Testament story of Daniel, including events surrounding the Babylonian empire, the fiery furnace, and the lions’ den. Sight & Sound said the Branson version will feature a revised script and new musical material.

Producer Caleb Hughes said the revised version of “Daniel” places greater emphasis on the story’s central themes.

“How do we live faithfully and serve God, even in cultures that are opposed to Him?” Hughes said. “This is where Daniel’s story offers incredible hope and direction.”

The announcement provides an early look at Sight & Sound’s 2027 programming and continues the company’s strategy of rotating original and returning productions between its Pennsylvania and Missouri theaters.

Founded in Lancaster County, Sight & Sound has become one of Pennsylvania’s largest faith-based entertainment attractions, drawing visitors from across the United States to its theatrical productions featuring large-scale sets, live animals, and immersive staging.

Tickets for both productions are now on sale through the company’s website at https://www.sight-sound.com.
