MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced plans for shoulder stabilization on Route 23, known locally as River Road, in Upper Merion Township and West Conshohocken Borough, Montgomery County. The work is scheduled to take place from Wednesday, January 17, through Friday, January 19, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, and is expected to lead to significant traffic disruptions in the area.

Specifically, the lane closure will occur on Route 23 between Route 320, also known as Swedeland Road, and Balligomingo Road. This stretch of road is a key artery for many local residents and businesses, and the closure is likely to have a widespread impact on travel times.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the affected area due to the anticipated backups and delays. While the disruption may cause some inconvenience, the work is crucial for the ongoing maintenance and safety of the road.

As with all road works, the schedule is weather dependent, meaning that adverse conditions could potentially extend the duration of the project. PennDOT has assured residents that every effort will be made to minimize disruption and complete the work as quickly as possible.
