Resurfacing Project Begins on Route 322 in Lancaster County

LANCASTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a 2.2-mile resurfacing project has begun on Route 322 in Lancaster County. The project limits are from Academy Drive in Ephrata Borough westward through Ephrata Township to Wood Corner Road/Durlach Road in Clay Township.

Work will be performed during daylight hours for the next two weeks. There will be short-term lane restrictions under flagging during work hours. After that, the contractor will begin night operations, working from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM through the construction season. There will be lane restrictions under flagging. An oversize load restriction will be in place.

This is a resurfacing project that consists of full width milling, base repair, drainage replacement, guide rail updates, ADA curb ramp construction, asphalt paving, line painting, sign updates, and other miscellaneous construction from 500 feet east of the intersection with Academy Drive to the intersection with Wood Corner Road/Durlach Road.

New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc., of New Enterprise, PA, is the contractor on this $1,652,050 project.

All work is expected to be completed by May 31, 2024.
