PHILADELPHIA, PA — Drivers in Montgomery and Philadelphia counties should prepare for overnight and daytime travel disruptions this week as PennDOT crews carry out paving, milling, and line-striping operations on several state highways.

According to PennDOT, paving operations are scheduled on Route 73 (Big Road) between Colonial Road and Route 29 (Gravel Pike Circle) in Upper Frederick and Lower Frederick townships from Monday, June 15, through Friday, June 19. Lane closures with flagging will occur nightly from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Additional milling work is planned on Route 113 (Black Rock Road/Trappe Road) between South Trappe Road and Borough Line Road in Upper Providence Township from Wednesday, June 24, through Friday, June 26. Lane closures with flagging will be in place from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
In Philadelphia, line-striping operations will affect several roadways from Monday, June 15, through Friday, June 19. Lane closures are scheduled on Cecil B. Moore Avenue between 10th Street and Ridge Avenue; Robbins Street between Frankford Avenue and State Road; Rhawn Street between Oxford Avenue and State Road; and Holme Avenue between U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) and Academy Road.
Those Philadelphia restrictions will generally occur between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and again during overnight hours, though work times vary slightly by roadway.
No detours have been announced, and local access will be maintained. However, drivers should expect delays as lanes are restricted and traffic is directed through active work zones. Plan extra time for travel and seek alternate routes when possible, especially during overnight paving and milling operations.
PennDOT said the work is part of several ongoing projects aimed at repairing, resurfacing, and improving more than 240 miles of state highways across the region. Improvements include milling and repaving road surfaces, applying new pavement markings, and enhancing roadway conditions to provide a smoother and safer ride for motorists.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be adjusted if conditions warrant.
