LIMERICK TWP, PA — Drivers should prepare for extended delays and a long detour as PennDOT begins work to rehabilitate the Township Line Road bridge over Lodal Creek in Limerick and Perkiomen townships.

Drivers should expect daytime lane closures with flagging on Township Line Road between Graterford Road/Wartman Road and Mayberry Road from Monday, August 10, through Friday, August 14 as crews prepare for bridge construction.
Beginning Monday, August 17, Township Line Road will close around the clock between Mayberry Road and Graterford Road/Wartman Road through Sunday, October 25.
During the full closure, drivers will be directed to use Perkiomen Avenue/Limerick Road, Route 73 (Main Street), Route 29 (First Avenue/Gravel Pike) and Ridge Pike/Main Street.
Local access will be maintained at all times. Drivers should plan extra time because backups and delays are expected near the work zone and along the detour route. Seek alternate routes when practical and remain alert for changing traffic patterns.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be postponed if conditions are unfavorable.
The project will rehabilitate the 76-year-old bridge by replacing its superstructure, installing new beams, a reinforced concrete deck, barriers and guiderail, and milling and paving the roadway approaches.
The bridge carries more than 12,600 vehicles each day and is one of 14 structures being rehabilitated under PennDOT’s $16.2 million bridge improvement program spanning Bucks, Chester, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
