Lynn Boulevard Closure Could Mean Months of Painful Night Delays

UPPER DARBY TWP, PA — Drivers in Upper Darby Township should prepare for months of overnight disruptions beginning Monday, August 24, when Aqua Pennsylvania closes part of Lynn Boulevard for utility construction. The weeknight restrictions are scheduled to continue through the end of December.

Lynn Boulevard will be closed and detoured between U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) and Hillside Avenue during the scheduled work hours. Local access will be maintained.

Drivers will be directed to use Route 3 (West Chester Pike), Darby Road, Brookline Boulevard, Earlington Road and U.S. 1 (Township Line Road) to travel around the closure.

Motorists should plan extra time when traveling near the construction zone or along the detour. Backups and delays may occur, particularly as traffic shifts onto surrounding roads during the overnight closures.

The work is scheduled Mondays through Thursdays, leaving Lynn Boulevard open outside the designated construction hours. All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be postponed or rescheduled.
