Lingering Closures Follow Major Bucks County Road Upgrade

MIDDLETOWN TWP, PA — Drivers may encounter periodic single-lane closures along Langhorne-Yardley Road over the next several weeks as crews complete final work following an $11.1 million intersection improvement project in Middletown Township. Motorists should plan extra time and expect possible delays near Bridgetown Pike and Woodbourne Road.

Major construction included a new single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Langhorne-Yardley Road and Bridgetown Pike. The roundabout reopened to traffic on August 15, 2025.

Crews also realigned portions of the roadway and installed upgraded traffic signals, stormwater controls, Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant curb ramps, signs and lighting. The project included resurfacing and improvements intended to make the corridor easier to navigate for pedestrians and bicyclists.

At the intersection of Langhorne-Yardley Road and Woodbourne Road, the project realigned the northern leg of Woodbourne Road and added auxiliary turn lanes on all four approaches.

The eastern leg of Woodbourne Road was widened to accommodate a new left-turn lane on Langhorne-Yardley Road approaching Erica Drive.

James D. Morrissey Inc., of Philadelphia, served as the general contractor. The project was financed with 80% federal funding and 20% state funding.
