WEST EARL TWP, PA — Drivers traveling northbound on Route 222 near the Route 772 interchange should prepare for changing traffic patterns, overnight lane restrictions, and ramp closures this weekend as PennDOT continues bridge repair work in Lancaster County.

PennDOT said a northbound lane restriction followed by a traffic shift will begin at 8:00 PM Friday, May 29, and continue through Saturday night, May 30, as crews repair the Route 222 bridge spanning Church Street near the Route 772 (Brownstown/Rothsville) interchange.
Additional overnight and weekend lane closures on northbound Route 222 are expected to continue through June as contractors complete remaining work tied to the larger pavement preservation project.
The Route 772 on-ramp to northbound Route 222 will remain closed from 8:00 PM Thursday, May 28, through 8:00 PM Sunday, May 31.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured using Route 772, Route 222, Route 272, Jake Landis Road, and Pinetown Road to reconnect with northbound Route 222.
PennDOT also said the northbound Route 222 off-ramp for Route 772 will remain closed from May 28 through June 28. Drivers exiting Route 222 northbound will be directed to continue to Route 322 before reversing direction.
Following the weekend on-ramp closure, an 11-foot width restriction will remain in place on the Route 772 on-ramp through June 28.
The work is part of a 3.3-mile pavement preservation project spanning Manheim, Warwick, and West Earl townships. Improvements include resurfacing, milling, base repair, concrete patching, guiderail upgrades, line painting, and updated signage.
Motorists should expect delays and shifting traffic patterns throughout the corridor, especially during nighttime hours and weekends. Plan extra time, reduce speeds in work zones, and seek alternate routes where possible.
