CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Drivers should expect daytime delays on U.S. 30 (Exton Bypass) beginning Friday, August 28, as alternating lane closures support sinkhole remediation in West Whiteland and East Caln townships.

Alternating lane closures will affect eastbound U.S. 30 between Quarry Road and Whitford Road on Friday.
From Monday, August 31, through Thursday, September 3, alternating lane closures will affect westbound U.S. 30 between Whitford Road and the exit to Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue).
PennDOT advises motorists to plan extra time because backups and delays are expected near the work area. The schedule depends on weather conditions.
The restrictions are part of a $6.8 million project to permanently repair sinkholes at two locations between Business U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and Clover Mill Road.
Crews will drill holes through the pavement in a grid pattern and inject pressurized grout into underground voids. The work is intended to stabilize the ground beneath the highway and reduce the risk of future sinkholes.
Additional construction includes pavement reconstruction, drainage pipe replacement, and stabilization of roadside drainage swales.
Road-Con, of West Chester, is the general contractor. The project is financed entirely with federal funds.
