Lancaster County Approves Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy Program

Lancaster County

LANCASTER, PA — On Wednesday, September 6th, the Lancaster County Commissioners approved the Lancaster County Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (C-PACE) program. The program, authorized by the state legislature, will assist owners of commercial, industrial, non-profit and agricultural properties in securing financing for upgrades to their infrastructure. By utilizing C-PACE, property owners can obtain low-cost, long-term financing for energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, indoor air quality, and resiliency projects.

The Commissioners also voted to appoint Sustainable Energy Fund (SEF) as the administrators of the program for Lancaster County. SEF is a nonprofit organization that assists energy users in overcoming financial, educational and regulatory barriers. They currently administer a C-PACE program for over 20 other Pennsylvania Counties.

“We are looking forward to business and property owners having this tool at their disposal to invest in their buildings,” Commissioner Ray D’Agostino, Chair of the Board of Commissioners said “These projects will ultimately make a positive impact on businesses and the community through building upgrades that increase energy efficiency or invest in renewable energy. We appreciate the Sustainable Energy Fund for taking the lead as program administrator and look forward to the positive economic impact it will have within Lancaster County.”
