High Bail Set: 19-Year-Old Apprehended in Connection with June Shooting

WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police have announced the arrest of a 19-year-old man in connection to a June Shooting incident.

Angelo Brown has been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Assault, three counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and numerous other related criminal offenses.

The criminal complaint alleges that on June 20, at approximately 3:25 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1300 block of Maryland Avenue, in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, officers located a 19-year-old female gunshot victim and a 13-year-old male gunshot victim, who were both transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The case was assigned to Detective Michael Hayman of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Hayman was able to identify 19-year-old Angelo Brown as a suspect, and obtain warrants for his arrest.

On June 30, at approximately 6:00 a.m., police executed a search warrant in the 700 block of Woodtop Drive, took Brown into custody without incident, and recovered a 9mm handgun.

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $332,733 cash-only bail.

Information, a criminal complaint, or an arrest is not a declaration of guilt. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
