WARMINSTER, PA — Havis has acquired Pro-gard Products, broadening its portfolio of law enforcement vehicle equipment as public safety agencies increasingly seek integrated vehicle systems from a single supplier.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The acquisition combines Havis’ products, including vehicle consoles, mounting systems, docking stations, power management and mobility technology, with Pro-gard’s line of prisoner transport systems, vehicle partitions, gun racks, storage systems and other law enforcement vehicle equipment.
The deal strengthens Havis’ position in the market for police vehicle outfitting, where agencies are equipping patrol vehicles with growing amounts of technology while seeking standardized, integrated equipment packages.
“The acquisition strengthens Havis’ ability to deliver the complete law enforcement vehicle platform today’s public safety agencies require,” Chief Executive Officer Max Rogers said. “Together, we can help agencies, OEMs, dealers, upfitters, and distributors build safer, more secure, and more productive vehicles.”
Pro-gard, which has operated for nearly six decades, manufactures vehicle protection systems and prisoner transport equipment used by law enforcement agencies. Havis indicated the combined organization will offer a broader range of products intended to simplify procurement and vehicle integration for public safety customers.
Mike Navarro, president of Pro-gard Products, stated that the companies expect the combination to expand their ability to provide integrated vehicle solutions while continuing to support existing customers.
Together, the companies have more than 135 years of combined experience supplying equipment for public safety vehicles, according to Havis.
