PHILADELPHIA, PA — Overnight lane closures will affect both directions of Interstate 95 at the Girard Point Bridge from Monday, July 27, through Wednesday, July 29, as crews install barriers for a long-term construction pattern. Drivers should plan extra time and expect delays through Southwest Philadelphia.

The left lane of northbound I-95 will be closed between Enterprise Avenue and Broad Street (Route 611).
The right lane of southbound I-95 will be closed between Broad Street (Route 611) and Enterprise Avenue.
The barriers will establish a long-term traffic pattern designed to maintain three travel lanes during peak hours. Additional off-peak and weekend restrictions are expected as the project progresses.
The southbound I-95 ramp to Enterprise Avenue and Island Avenue at Exit 15 also remains closed through 2027.
Drivers seeking Exit 15 will be directed to use the Bartram Avenue and Essington Avenue off-ramp at Exit 14. From there, motorists should follow Bartram Avenue, turn left onto Island Avenue and then turn left onto Enterprise Avenue.
The restrictions are part of a $261.5 million project to rehabilitate the 5,183-foot, double-deck Girard Point Bridge and nine approach structures between Enterprise Avenue and Broad Street.
Work includes repairing bridge decks and expansion joints, replacing barriers, rehabilitating portions of the steel and concrete structures, upgrading lighting and drainage systems, protecting a bridge pier in the Schuylkill River and improving traffic-management equipment.
All scheduled activities are weather dependent. Motorists should reduce speed, watch for changing traffic patterns and seek alternate routes when practical.
