TREVOSE, PA — Comcast has completed more than half of a broadband expansion project that will extend its network to more than 15,700 additional homes and businesses in the Greater Phillipsburg area, as the company continues investing in infrastructure intended to expand internet access across northwestern New Jersey.
The company said construction is nearing completion in Lopatcong, Greenwich and Alpha, while approximately half of the planned work in Phillipsburg has been finished. Construction activity in Pohatcong Township is continuing as the broader project advances toward completion by the end of the year.
As new sections of the network are activated, additional households and businesses are becoming eligible for Xfinity residential services and Comcast Business offerings on a rolling basis.
The expansion is part of Comcast’s broader investment in New Jersey. The company said it has connected an additional 43,000 homes and businesses statewide to its network over the past year.
Residents can determine whether service is available at their address by visiting Xfinity.com/mytown or by visiting the Xfinity retail location at 155 Port Murray Road in Port Murray.
The buildout will provide access to Xfinity internet, mobile, television, voice and home security services for residential customers, while businesses will have access to Comcast Business internet, networking, communications and mobile services.
Dan Bonelli, Comcast’s regional senior vice president, said the project is intended to expand digital infrastructure as more communities gain access to broadband connectivity. “As more homes and businesses come online, we’re not just expanding our Xfinity network — we’re investing in infrastructure that will power connection, innovation and economic momentum now and into the future,” he said.
Comcast also said the expansion supports its broadband affordability efforts through Internet Essentials, a discounted internet program for eligible households. The company added that it has funded digital literacy initiatives, WiFi-connected Lift Zones and other connectivity programs through nonprofit organizations in Warren County.
The Greater Phillipsburg expansion includes work in Lopatcong Township, Greenwich Township, Alpha, Phillipsburg and Pohatcong Township, with additional addresses expected to become serviceable as construction progresses throughout 2026.
