DOYLESTOWN, PA — CleanSpace has launched a division dedicated to designing and constructing cold storage facilities, expanding the Doylestown-based company’s operations into temperature-controlled infrastructure for food processors, pharmaceutical manufacturers and other industrial customers.
The new division, called ColdSpace, will combine building construction, refrigeration, storage systems, automation and facility controls under a single contract, according to the company.
The expansion extends CleanSpace’s existing design-build operations into a market where facility performance depends on coordinating refrigeration equipment, building systems and material-handling infrastructure.
ColdSpace will serve food and beverage producers, pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, industrial manufacturers and other businesses requiring controlled-temperature environments.
Its projects will range from refrigerated processing areas and walk-in coolers to large freezer warehouses and more complex cold storage facilities.
Under the division’s delivery model, customers will contract with one provider to coordinate construction, refrigeration, racking, automation, controls and supporting software.
CleanSpace intends to integrate those systems during the initial design and engineering stages rather than managing them as separate components later in construction.
The approach is designed to reduce coordination problems between contractors and equipment suppliers while giving facility owners greater oversight of project schedules, costs and technical requirements.
ColdSpace builds on CleanSpace’s existing operations in facility planning, engineering, manufacturing, construction, qualification and ongoing support.
The company has also appointed Michael O’Neill as national director of sales and Michelle Grojean as director of marketing for the new division.
O’Neill will focus on developing customer relationships and business opportunities, while Grojean will support the division’s market development efforts.
The launch broadens CleanSpace’s business beyond its established environmentally controlled facility projects, adding a dedicated operation for cold storage construction and related infrastructure.
