Church Road Work Could Cause Around-the-Clock Delays

CHELTENHAM TWP, PA — Drivers using Church Road should prepare for daytime and overnight lane closures next week as PennDOT crews complete milling and utility work between Township Line Road and Route 73 (Washington Lane).

Lane closures with flagging will be in place overnight from Monday, July 27, through Friday, July 31, while crews mill the roadway. Additional daytime restrictions are scheduled Tuesday, July 28, through Friday, July 31, for utility adjustments.

No detour was announced. Motorists should plan extra time, expect backups and seek alternate routes when practical. Drivers should remain alert for flaggers, construction crews and changing traffic patterns throughout the work zone.

All scheduled activities are weather dependent and may be postponed if conditions are unfavorable.

The work is part of PennDOT’s ongoing resurfacing and roadway improvement program. Contractors are repairing, milling and repaving state highways with new asphalt intended to seal the roadway and provide motorists with a safer, smoother driving surface.
