CHESAPEAKE CITY, MD — The Cecil College Foundation inducted 10 new members into its Socrates Society this month, expanding a donor group that supports scholarships, educational programs, and long-term institutional initiatives through planned giving commitments.
The new inductees were recognized during the Foundation’s annual Socrates Society luncheon held June 2 at Schaefer’s Canal House in Chesapeake City, according to the Foundation. The organization said the society honors individuals whose planned gifts help provide future financial support for Cecil College students and programs.
This year’s inductees are Jeanne Parry, Robert H. Hodge Jr., Ruth Jamison, Amie Speer, Aliyah Williams-Pugh, Dee Becker, Emily Falone, Jim Falone, Elizabeth Hodge, and Robert H. Hodge Sr.
Foundation officials said planned gifts play an important role in supporting the college’s long-term financial resources, helping fund scholarships, instructional materials, professional development, capital projects, and other educational initiatives.
The luncheon also served as a recognition event for current and newly inducted members whose contributions support the college’s mission and future growth. Foundation leaders noted that planned giving commitments create lasting support for future generations of students and help strengthen educational opportunities throughout the community.
