PHILADELPHIA, PA — Callan Family Office has hired philanthropic strategist George Burnette as director of philanthropic consulting and wealth, expanding its advisory capabilities as demand grows for integrated wealth, estate and charitable planning among ultra-high-net-worth families.
The appointment reflects increasing competition among family offices and registered investment advisors to offer services beyond traditional investment management, particularly in areas such as legacy planning, governance and philanthropy.
Burnette will advise wealthy families, family enterprises, foundations and endowments on charitable giving strategies and long-term wealth planning. He will also work with nonprofit organizations on governance, donor engagement, planned giving and stewardship initiatives.
The move broadens Callan Family Office’s service offering at a time when affluent families are placing greater emphasis on aligning wealth management with charitable and multigenerational objectives.
“George brings a rare combination of legal, financial, and nonprofit expertise that will allow us to deepen our capabilities and deliver more integrated guidance to the families and organizations we serve,” Amy Jucoski, the firm’s chief family officer and founding partner, said in a statement.
Burnette joins the firm from First Citizens Bank & Trust, where he served as vice president and philanthropic strategist and helped develop the bank’s national charitable advisory platform.
His background spans legal, financial services and nonprofit advisory work, sectors that increasingly intersect as wealthy families seek more sophisticated approaches to philanthropy and estate planning.
Callan indicated that Burnette’s experience will support advisory work related to charitable structures, governance frameworks, tax-aware planning and wealth-transfer strategies.
“It is an honor to join a team that recognizes that strategic philanthropy is a core discipline to any organization that manages the complexity of multigenerational wealth,” Burnette said.
Burnette holds a law degree from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law and earned undergraduate degrees in history and peace, war and defense from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He is a licensed attorney in North Carolina and holds several professional designations, including Certified Financial Planner, Accredited Trust Financial Advisor and Trust and Estate Practitioner.
The hire comes as family offices increasingly compete to differentiate themselves through specialized advisory services aimed at preserving wealth across generations while helping clients navigate complex philanthropic and legacy-planning decisions.
