CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — Henrietta Hankin Branch Library will launch a three-part technology lecture series Thursday examining internet security, artificial intelligence and data centers, bringing discussions of digital risks and technology infrastructure to Chester Springs residents through Oct. 8.
The Tech Talk series will be led by Mike Sheldon, a longtime technology tutor and lecturer for the Chester County Library and Henrietta Hankin Branch. Sheldon spent 37 years in the computer industry before retiring in 2012 and later becoming a Chester County Library System volunteer.
The first session, “Internet Safety,” is scheduled for Sept. 17 and will address device protection, secure web browsing, password management, email security, Wi-Fi access, and social media practices.
“An Intro to Artificial Intelligence” will follow Sept. 24, examining the technology’s definitions and capabilities as well as its effects on security, culture and the global economy.
The series will conclude Oct. 8 with “Intro to Data Centers,” focusing on the infrastructure behind data centers and their requirements for land, electricity, and water. The session will also examine rising demand and operational and environmental challenges facing the industry, followed by a question-and-answer session.
Each lecture will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room at Henrietta Hankin Branch Library, 215 Windgate Drive in Chester Springs.
