Aramark Volunteers Participate in Global Community Service Day

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Thousands of Aramark employees participated in the company’s annual Global Day of Service on April 16, supporting more than 100 community organizations across the United States and 12 other countries.

The initiative, known as Aramark Building Community Day, included projects such as neighborhood revitalization, meal preparation, and hygiene kit assembly.

Volunteer teams worked in countries including Canada, Chile, Germany, Mexico, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

“Each year, ABC Day demonstrates the power of uniting our global workforce around a single, meaningful purpose: service,” said John Zillmer, chief executive officer of Aramark.

In Philadelphia, about 250 volunteers supported city beautification efforts tied to preparations for the nation’s 250th anniversary, including improvements in the Point Breeze neighborhood and projects in West Philadelphia.

Additional projects took place in Las Vegas, Washington, D.C., and Kansas City, Missouri, involving facility upgrades, landscaping, and the assembly of food and hygiene kits.

International efforts included meal service, community cleanups, and youth-focused programming.

“ABC Day puts that commitment into action on a global scale,” said Debbie Albert, senior vice president of corporate affairs at Aramark.

The program, launched in 2014, is part of a broader company initiative that has engaged more than 80,000 employee volunteers since 2008 and supported programs benefiting more than 2 million people worldwide.
