PHILADELPHIA, PA — Aramark Collegiate Hospitality has secured a long-term agreement with Grand Canyon University, expanding its presence in higher education dining and hospitality services as universities increasingly invest in campus amenities aimed at attracting and retaining students.
The partnership will place Aramark in charge of campus dining, retail food operations, catering services, and athletics-related hospitality programs at the Phoenix-based university, which has experienced significant enrollment growth in recent years.
The agreement reflects a broader trend across higher education institutions that are using dining, retail, and campus experience investments as competitive tools in student recruitment and retention efforts.
Grand Canyon University President Brian Mueller said the university’s dining infrastructure has become a key component of campus life.
“GCU consistently ranks among the nation’s top 25 Best College Campuses, and our 35 dining options play a major role in that,” Mueller said. “Aramark has proven experience, a strong commitment to technology, student engagement and operational execution, and we are excited about what this partnership will bring to the GCU community.”
Under the agreement, Aramark will oversee a hospitality platform that includes campus dining venues, retail food locations, catering operations, and athletic event concessions.
The company said it plans to combine proprietary dining concepts, national brands, and regional partners while using data analytics and retail planning tools to adjust offerings as student preferences evolve.
Athletics is expected to be a major component of the partnership. Aramark will support concession operations, gameday hospitality, and nutrition-focused dining programs for student-athletes.
The company also plans to implement technology upgrades and operational changes designed to improve service efficiency during athletic events and large campus gatherings.
Barbara Flanagan, president and chief executive officer of Aramark Collegiate Hospitality, said the partnership is designed to support the university’s long-term growth strategy.
“By combining customized programs with trusted performance reporting, advanced analytics, and engaged leadership, we are creating a platform for continuous improvement and long-term value,” Flanagan said.
The agreement also includes a performance-monitoring framework that will provide university administrators with operational reporting and benchmarking data intended to guide future decision-making as enrollment and campus activity expand.
Aramark said the program will emphasize workforce continuity, operational stability, student employment opportunities, and leadership development initiatives as part of the broader campus services strategy.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
