PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects accused of assaulting and robbing a man outside a McDonald’s in South Philadelphia earlier this month.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, surveillance cameras captured the incident at approximately 1:55 a.m. July 9 in the parking lot of the McDonald’s at 2901 Grays Ferry Ave.
Investigators allege the first suspect became involved in an argument with an adult male victim before the second suspect struck the victim, knocking him to the ground. Police reported the two suspects then allegedly punched the victim multiple times until a bystander intervened.
According to investigators, the suspects allegedly took the victim’s food while he was on the ground and began walking away. When the victim confronted them, police allege the suspects assaulted him a second time before fleeing south on 29th Street from Grays Ferry Avenue.
Police released surveillance images of the suspects and are urging anyone who recognizes them or has information about the investigation to contact the South Detective Division at 215-686-3013 or 215-686-3014. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by calling 215-686-TIPS (8477). Anyone who encounters the suspects is urged not to approach them and instead call 911.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
