AUDUBON, PA — AIROS Medical introduced a travel case for its ARTAIRA arterial compression device as the company expands support products tied to its recently cleared peripheral arterial disease therapy system.
The ARTAIRA Travel Case is designed to help patients transport the company’s compression therapy device and related garments while maintaining prescribed treatment routines outside the home, AIROS announced.
The launch follows U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance earlier this year for the ARTAIRA device, a non-invasive intermittent pneumatic compression system intended to improve circulation in the lower extremities for certain patients with peripheral arterial disease, or PAD.
The device uses timed high-pressure compression sequences through leg garments to increase blood flow to the feet, ankles and toes. It is prescribed for patients experiencing symptoms associated with arterial insufficiency, including leg pain, diabetic foot ulcers and gangrene.
“Our team at AIROS Medical is committed to developing solutions that support patients throughout their treatment journey — not just during therapy sessions, but also in how therapy fits into everyday life,” Darren Behuniak, the company’s chief operating officer, said in a statement.
Behuniak added that the travel case was developed in response to feedback from clinicians and patients seeking greater consistency in therapy adherence while traveling or commuting.
Peripheral arterial disease affects blood flow to the limbs and is commonly associated with narrowed arteries and circulation problems. Compression therapy devices are increasingly being used as non-invasive treatment options aimed at improving blood flow and reducing symptoms.
