Join the Conversation: Shape the Future of U.S. 30 and Enhance Chester County Roads!

PennDOT

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has scheduled a series of public meetings to present and discuss proposed improvements to a 4.3-mile stretch of the U.S. 30 (Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass) located between Business U.S. 30 and Route 82 in Sadsbury, West Caln, and Valley townships. This project is a critical component of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing safety, reducing congestion, and improving connectivity along this vital transportation corridor.

Residents and stakeholders are invited to participate in a live virtual public meeting on Thursday, November 14, at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be accessible via a Microsoft Live Teams link, allowing attendees to watch a comprehensive project presentation followed by a Q&A session hosted by PennDOT’s design team. This online platform requires internet access, and participants are encouraged to join early to ensure a seamless experience.

For those unable to attend virtually, an in-person meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 3, starting at 6:00 PM at the Coatesville Moose Lodge, located on Airport Road. This open house event will provide a valuable opportunity for attendees to engage with PennDOT representatives, view informational displays, and discuss specific project elements directly with the design team.

Public engagement is a cornerstone of the project’s planning process, as PennDOT seeks to incorporate community feedback to refine plans that address local concerns while advancing regional transportation objectives. The upgrades to the U.S. 30 corridor are expected to play a significant role in accommodating anticipated growth within the area, improving roadway deficiencies, and fostering a safer, more efficient travel experience for all users.

Individuals with special needs or those requiring assistance to participate in the meetings are encouraged to contact PennDOT Project Manager Steven Fellin or Design Public Outreach Coordinator Nicole Kline for support. Public involvement is vital to the project’s success, and PennDOT remains committed to facilitating open and constructive dialogue throughout the development process.
