WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County health inspectors cited multiple food establishments on Friday for violations, including bare-hand contact with ready-to-eat food, improper refrigeration, cross-contamination risks, and unclean food-contact surfaces, according to inspection reports published by the Chester County Health Department.
Little Anthony’s Pizza & Grill in Coatesville was cited after an employee was observed touching ready-to-eat pizza slices with bare hands. Inspectors noted the slices were intended for immediate sale and may not be reheated to the required temperature of 165 degrees.
The restaurant was also cited for using cups as scoops in dry goods containers, storing a severely dented can in a food preparation area and failing to maintain cleanliness inside an ice machine chute.
At The West Bradford Market in West Chester, inspectors observed raw eggs stored above ready-to-eat foods inside a refrigerator, a violation that can increase cross-contamination risks.
Inspectors also cited the market for storing ice cream scoops in standing water, failing to provide ingredient labels on grab-and-go pickled egg containers and keeping half-and-half at 58 degrees on a coffee station counter despite refrigeration requirements. The dairy product was discarded during the inspection.
Additional violations at the market included debris buildup inside a reach-in refrigerator.
The Chester County Health Department noted that inspections represent conditions observed at a specific date and time and may not reflect an establishment’s long-term sanitation practices.
The following establishments were listed as in compliance following inspections conducted May 15:
