HARRISBURG, PA — State Representative Darisha Parker (D-Philadelphia) has started her third term representing the 198th Legislative District with new committee responsibilities for the 2025-26 legislative session.
Parker will serve on the House Insurance, Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Aging and Older Adult Services, Commerce, Children and Youth, and Rules Committees. Highlighting the significance of these roles, she stated, “Committees are an integral part of the legislative process; listening to expert testimony offers a chance to have important conversations and arms us with information so we can craft legislation that truly makes a difference in people’s lives.”
Additionally, Parker was sworn in as vice-chair of the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus, a group focused on addressing disparities and expanding opportunities for communities of color across the state. She expressed gratitude for this position and emphasized her dedication to advancing legislative efforts aimed at fostering equity.
Parker intends to bring fresh perspectives to her appointments, stressing her commitment to understanding the unique challenges tied to each area she now oversees. These roles position her to address critical issues affecting residents of her district and the broader commonwealth.
