Chester County Names Faith Mattox-Baldini as County Solicitor

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County has appointed Faith Mattox-Baldini as county solicitor, making permanent the role she has held on an acting basis since April and placing a longtime county attorney in charge of the county’s legal operations.

Mattox-Baldini previously served as deputy county solicitor and has worked for Chester County since 2017. She joined the Solicitor’s Office in 2021 after serving in the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.

County Solicitor serves as the chief legal advisor to county government, providing counsel on operational, regulatory and compliance matters affecting county departments and agencies.

“Since joining the Solicitor’s Office in 2021, following her service in the District Attorney’s Office, Faith has proven to be a trusted legal advisor and collaborative partner to County departments on a wide range of operational and compliance matters,” County Administrator Erik Walschburger said in a statement. “Her judgment, responsiveness, and familiarity with the County make her exceptionally well-suited to serve as County Solicitor.”

Mattox-Baldini succeeds in the role after serving as acting county solicitor for the past two months.

“I am honored to be named County Solicitor and to lead a talented and dedicated team of attorneys and support staff,” Mattox-Baldini stated. “Together, we will continue to provide high-quality legal guidance that supports the County’s mission, upholds the public trust, and helps County departments effectively serve our residents.”

A graduate of Chestnut Hill College, Mattox-Baldini earned her law degree from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.

Her appointment continues a series of leadership changes within Chester County government this year as the county fills key administrative and legal positions.
