MALVERN, PA — Honey, hands-on crafts and a closer look at the world inside a beehive will take center stage in Malvern as Historic Sugartown celebrates National Honey Month with a family-friendly Bee Day.
Historic Sugartown and the Chester County Beekeepers Association will team up Sept. 12 for a morning of activities designed to introduce visitors of all ages to bees, beekeeping and the important role pollinators play in the environment.
The event will take place both inside Historic Sugartown’s Carriage Museum and outside on the surrounding lawn, giving families a chance to move between demonstrations, exhibits and creative activities throughout the morning.
Visitors can make bee-inspired crafts, hear presentations from local beekeeping experts and learn more about how bees live, why beekeeping matters and what people can do to help protect pollinators.
One of the day’s highlights will be a honey extraction demonstration, offering guests a firsthand look at how honey is harvested from the hive and prepared for use.
The event also gives visitors an opportunity to explore the Carriage Museum while enjoying the historic property’s outdoor setting.
