Rajant, Nokia Link Edge AI With Industrial Wireless Networks

Rajant Corporation

MALVERN, PA — Rajant Corp. and Nokia are integrating wireless networking and edge artificial intelligence technologies to support more autonomous industrial operations in sectors where communications must remain available across mobile and demanding environments.

The collaboration will combine Rajant’s Kinetic Mesh networking technology and Cowbell distributed-computing AI platform with Nokia’s Cognitive Operations platform, a ruggedized multi-access edge AI system designed for mission-critical operations.

The companies are targeting mining, ports, public safety, oil and gas, defense and other industrial applications that require connectivity, local data processing and operational awareness at the network edge.

The combination reflects a broader shift toward hybrid wireless networks that can process information closer to industrial equipment rather than relying exclusively on centralized computing infrastructure.

Rajant’s Kinetic Mesh technology will provide the communications layer, while its Cowbell platform adds distributed AI computing. Nokia’s Cognitive Operations technology is intended to use those capabilities for edge processing and operational management.

“Together, we can give industrial and mission-critical teams the connectivity, local AI processing and operational awareness they need to move operations towards more autonomous adaptive and resilient systems,” said Lelio Di Martino, general manager of Cognitive Operations at Nokia.

Sagar Chandra, Rajant’s executive vice president of global sales, said the collaboration combines the companies’ capabilities in wireless networking and integrated AI.

The companies said the integration is intended to support continuous operational awareness as industrial customers increase their use of AI-driven automation and hybrid wireless infrastructure.
