WEST CHESTER, PA — The Fred Beans Automotive Group was named for the fifth straight year among the Best Places to Work in the Greater Philadelphia Region. The company is one of only four “extra-large” organizations (those with 450+ employees) named to the 2023 list.

“We take great pride in this acknowledgement as a ‘best place to work’, because it reflects our priority to support the growth and development of our team members so they can lead happy and fulfilling lives, both in and out of work,” said Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group.

The Best Places to Work list is compiled annually by the Philadelphia Business Journal in partnership with Quantum Workplace, a provider of employee engagement software. Winners are determined solely by employee feedback collected through an independent survey. Questions cover a range of topics including work environment, support of personal growth, benefits and trust in senior leadership.

“This past year, we focused on expanding employee benefits to become a leader in the automotive industry in terms of our paid time off policy, which includes parental leave and paid time off to volunteer,” said Gilbert. “As a family-owned business, we want to welcome employees who are as dedicated to their families as we are. That means offering benefits that support an improved work-life balance.”

Additional features that define the Fred Beans Automotive Group’s workplace culture include:

  • Opportunities for promotion and learning, ranging from tuition reimbursement to onsite Dale Carnegie leadership training and the Fred Beans Leadership Academy for employees moving into roles with increased responsibilities.
  • Perks from employee discounts to inclusion in the top Performers Club for those who meet defined yearly goals; Club members earn a group trip with company management.
  • A Healthy Living Program, run by a designated Wellness Coordinator, with online and in-person resources, company-wide fitness challenges and individualized fitness and nutrition consultations to support employees based on their needs and goals.
  • A genuine commitment to building a diverse team to bring new ideas and energy into the workplace; The Women of Beans social media campaign highlighted the contributions made by women across the company with a secondary goal to attract individuals into automotive who may not have previously considered working in the industry.
