CLAYMONT, DE — New Castle County police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect linked to a series of attempted residential burglaries Thursday morning in the Darley Green community.
According to the New Castle County Division of Police, officers responded at approximately 10:05 a.m. July 16 to multiple homes in the 3500 block of Naamans Drive and a residence in the 1400 block of Historical Way following reports of attempted burglaries.
Investigators allege an unidentified suspect attempted to gain entry into several homes by prying at rear doors and windows. Police also reported the suspect climbed onto a second-floor deck at one residence and was seen ringing doorbells throughout the neighborhood before allegedly attempting to enter homes.
Authorities have released a photograph of the individual but have not identified the suspect.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the person or has surveillance or doorbell camera footage recorded between approximately 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on July 16 to contact Officer Charles Simmons at Charles.Simmons@newcastlede.gov or (302) 395-2780.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
