WILMINGTON, DE — A 32-year-old Philadelphia woman has been arrested on a felony robbery charge after Delaware State Police said she was wanted in connection with an alleged confrontation and vehicle theft at a Wilmington Wawa earlier this month.
Troopers responded at approximately 8:30 p.m. Sept. 5 to the Wawa at 1702 Rocky Run Parkway for a report of a stolen vehicle, according to state police.
Investigators said the victim and Diamond Betsill, 32, had arrived at the Wawa together in the victim’s vehicle. Police said the two subsequently became involved in a verbal confrontation that escalated into a physical dispute.
During the confrontation, Betsill allegedly used force to overpower the victim and took the victim’s vehicle, according to state police.
Police said the victim was not injured.
Troopers identified Betsill as the suspect during their investigation and obtained a warrant for her arrest.
Betsill was arrested Sept. 15 and charged with felony second-degree robbery.
She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court and released on $10,000 unsecured bond, according to state police.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
