Father, Son Charged in $500K Stolen Vehicle Scheme in Lehigh County

Arrest

HARRISBURG, PA — A Lehigh County father and son face multiple felony charges in an alleged stolen-vehicle operation that used counterfeit identification numbers and fraudulent titles to sell nearly $500,000 worth of vehicles, including newer luxury models, according to Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday.

Jermaine Quinones Sr., 42, and Jermaine Quinones Jr., 18, are accused of operating a vehicle theft and resale scheme involving at least 12 vehicles between 2025 and 2026.

Both defendants face felony charges including corrupt organizations, theft by deception, washing vehicle titles and insurance fraud.

According to a joint investigation by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General’s Insurance Fraud Section, Pennsylvania State Police and Monroe County detectives, the defendants allegedly operated a chop shop in Lehigh County during 2026.

Investigators allege that the father and son used vehicle identification numbers and other information belonging to different vehicles to create fraudulent documentation for stolen automobiles.

The practice, commonly known as title washing, allegedly allowed the defendants to conceal the vehicles’ stolen status and offer them for sale to unsuspecting buyers.

Authorities identified 12 vehicles sold with fraudulent paperwork between 2025 and 2026, with a combined value approaching $500,000. Many were advertised and sold through Facebook Marketplace, according to investigators.

The vehicles included a 2026 Infiniti QX60 valued at $67,599, an Acura Integra valued at $35,950 and two Ford Mustangs valued at $32,640 and $31,890.

Prosecutors allege that the operation compromised Pennsylvania’s vehicle titling system while exposing buyers and insurance providers to financial losses associated with stolen vehicles.

Quinones Sr. was arrested earlier in October at his Allentown residence and arraigned on the charges. Cash bail was set at $450,000.

During his arrest, investigators also seized a semiautomatic rifle. Authorities said Quinones Sr. is prohibited from possessing firearms because of a prior felony conviction.

Quinones Jr. was arrested Thursday, Oct. 22, and arraigned, with bail set at $100,000.
