Traffic Stop Drama: Mississippi Woman Arrested for Warrant After Sobriety Test

Arrest

OXFORD, PA — A routine traffic stop by the Oxford Police Department on Thursday morning resulted in the arrest of a Mississippi woman due to an outstanding warrant in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

At approximately 10:12 a.m. on June 5, 2025, an officer conducting a traffic detail at the intersection of Market and Lincoln Streets stopped a maroon Dodge minivan for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as 54-year-old Diane McDowell. During the stop, officers observed an open container of beer on her lap. McDowell was ordered to exit the vehicle and perform a field sobriety test, which she successfully passed.

A subsequent warrant check revealed that McDowell was wanted by the West Fallowfield Police Department on drug-related charges. She was taken into custody without incident. A search conducted during her arrest did not uncover any contraband. However, the minivan was towed due to expired registration, which had been delinquent since February 2024, and a lack of proof of insurance.

McDowell was cited for traffic violations and later released to West Fallowfield Police Chief Josh Lowery for processing.

Authorities emphasize that all charges are allegations, and McDowell is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
